Born a stone’s throw from the Francorchamps circuit, Benoît Deliège has, since his childhood, been lulled by the fascinating atmosphere of motor racing. He lived his first grand prix at the age of four at the foot of the legendary Ardennes ring. Yet the art that links him to this passion is more recent. Captivated very early for drawing in general, he takes higher graphic arts courses that lead him to a career in advertising, a profession he still practices at the moment within his agency. It was only in 1994, on the occasion of the Motor Union, that he discovered his talent for automotive painting. He signs that year the poster for the Liège-Rome-Liège. The passion is launched! Quickly, other posters and many other works will follow and, the success growing, he publishes his first reproductions in limited editions. Devoting himself above all to painting out of simple pleasure, Benoît Deliège also honors private commissions. Blending realism and graphic interpretation, Benoît illustrates thrilling racing scenes, bringing back to life the striking, dangerous, even tragic aspect of motor sport. |
